Avatar Rules Reminder
Ok, I know this has been done, but with a lot of newbies, I guess it needs to
be done again. So here goes:
1: No
pornography! Khell's boobie sigs are about as riske as we need to get.
Anything more than that will be delt with by an admin, and you don't want that.
2: Small file size! No more than about 30K please. This is so that
people with very slow connections don't have to wait 4 days for everyone's
signatures to load. Most animations can be made that small, so it's not too bad.
3: Small size sig!! A lot of
people still use 800x600 resolution, so please don't make huge sigs. I can't
remember what size limitation we put on it, but it was something like 500 pixels
wide and about 250 pixels high. That's big enough for a good image, and doesn't
streach screens out of whack.
4: Small
avatar size!! No more than 100 pixels by 100 pixels. That is per
Sledgstone, so unless you want a really dorky image as your avatar, keep it that
small please.
4: Don't put too much in your sig either. It's very
annoying to read a topic that's more signature than topic. If you have just one
image, you can make it a decent size. If you want more images, each one has to
be smaller and fit within the 500x250 restriction. This also includes text. Don't do a small
picture then have 20 lines of text. Your signature should say something about
you, but not your life story.
That's about all I can think of. I
know some of you have bigger sig images than what I put up there, but if it's
been approved by one of the admins or mods, you can keep it. But don't be
writing us asking to approve your sig!! We only do that in special
circumstances, and if you ask, you'll more than likely be turned down, and only
end up annoying us anyways.
I suppose I should mention punishment for
breaking these rules so ya'll know what will happen. First offense: Your sig
will be changed for you to something else. This I have no control over b/c it
takes an Admin. And I should warn you, DX is the one that usually ends up doing
that, and he loves putting dorky images in people's sigs. Second offense: Major
warning and your signature privaliages will be revoked. Yes, admins can take
away your ability to have a signature and leave everyone else with theirs.
Anyhoo, that's about it. This topic will be moved to FAQs soon, but I'm
starting it here so ya'll notice it and can point newbies to it accordingly.

EDIT: As of March 20, 2003,
the new max sig size is 500 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall!!! Everything else up
there is still correct.

Yeah, he was... I asked
to be a mod, and I was granted Modship. Then I had to leave AC for awhile and
when I came back... All the mod spots were full and now I'm standing in the
unemployment line.

job ads are COMPLETLY off topic. In fact, that's some serious Spammage, so those
posts are deleted now.
Edit: Number 3: Don't ask to be a mod. If one is
needed and the admins think that you'll do a good job, you'll be asked. But
until then, we don't need more mods. Don't ask.
