(How did that happen? And holy jeebus, it rhymes. Weird.)
We made a
very lovely couple Compliments and jests to go 'round Admirers hushed in
whispers Entranced by a clockwork dance unwound
She made a very
lovely offer Singular--all that she wished One dance would take but a
moment Ripe suspense accentuates the dish.
He made a very lovely
smile Stranger playing polite No girl should gambol unaided Forcing
nearer they, managed to light.
Mine made a very lovely whisper
Desperately under its hair Tears--what a sad little mix-up Forgotten
I'm right over here?
They made a very lovely couple Debutante bell
and her beau I prefer to gambol unaided Nearest burgundy, staining the
snow.
