This may sound kinda confusing after a while so...

Okay, yesterday I downloaded a couple of songs from Limewire. The first two played perfectly on WMP. But the third song wouldn't even play. When I clicked on "More Information", in the picture, it said it doesn't support this media file. But it's a mp3...same as all of the others.

I downloaded WMP10 to re install it but it still didn't work, now it doesn't even let me play regular trailer or anything. I'm not sure if thi'll happen with all of my songs from now on or not.

All of my songs before that have been working properly also...

I'm not sure if this helps or not but;

Also, for a trailer I wasabout to watch it says;

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")."

Certain MP3's aren't supported by WMP for some unknown reason (I'm sure microsoft knows but I ain't gonna look it up). I've got a fair share of songs myself that don't play on WMP, just use another player like WinAmp, Real Player, etc.

it might not be a MP3 file. Edit the extenshion to mpg or mpeg and see what happends. If that dosnt help then download real player that supports alot more then windows player.

drop it into itunes or something similar and convert the file to a different type. It might have also been a bad connection. You didn't get the whole file.
