i was under the impression there already was a release date...i dont know maybe its just something my friend saw on IGE like an estimation, but its susposed to come out early summer/late spring

last release date i heard was march/april, but i think they keep moving it back for quality or whatever other reasons they have

I heard that it will be in the middle of May, but I'm not too sure about that. I've had money saved up for that movie almost 3 months ago, but they keep pushing it back to a later date.

according to some sources, it looks like square enix is going to announce the release date in may. they're going to be releasing two dvds too.. the movie by itself and a collectors edition that includes some merchandise, probably an action figure, or a demo disc for new games, making of dvd, poster, etc. who knows yet. :p

There is now a release date for Final Fantasy Advent Children: the date is 14 Sept and it is a world wide release. Info from http://www.adventchildren.net/Take a look it is also said that Kingdom Hearts II is coming out after that. NOt in that article but in other places around the web.

the only reason spirits within was a flop was because it went out the theatres.. FFVII: AC will be a straight to dvd release. ;)

The only thing Spirits Within had that drew people was the title and the fact it was 100% computer graphics. It flopped because it betrayed its title with an inferior, untraditional storyline.

Anyone who hasn't played the games will be a bit confused. It went from Final Fantasy as the first movie to Final Fantasy VII for the second movie.

I've seen 6 trailers at the least. I just hope they have really weird voices because they never had voices on VII. I havn't seen the english trailer yet though.

they're not finished making it yet.. as of right now they're still working on the audio portion. thats the significance of skytiger's post (this topic post #9). September 14th is when FFVII AC will hit the shelves. ^_^

its a real toss up. princess mononoke did pretty good with its celebrity lineup. they'll probably announce something about the VAs at E3.

^_^;; Each Final Fantasy is different, why do you claim that it's not final fantasy? .. Because it's not based off a game? .. Because you didn't see your beloved chocobos and cactuars?

Well, when you think about it.. if you take the storyline of the movie.. chocobos and cactuars wouldn't fit, anywhere.. .. while it would have been neat if they threw them in for kicks, the point is they didn't. that doesn't disqualify it as Final Fantasy in my book.

The basic plot was original, but fit the regular guidelines of the FF storylines. The main character was going through odd times in their life, often caused by unknown reasons until later on in the story. Ross was having those dreams about the phantoms because she came in contact with one of the spirits.. the infection was sealed within Aki using guardian spirits.

The villan had good intentions, but always resorted to violence and evil deeds to reach their goals.

Overall I believe it was a good movie, I was entertained (isn't that the most important factor?). While perhaps not final fantasy by your standards because it lacked the game references you expected.. it doesn't deserve the bashing it constantly gets. -- unfair expectations by fanboys and fangirls

If they made a FF based off TSW, I'd play it..
