Don't worry, if Square-enix likes money (and im pretty sure they do ;) ), they WILL remake FF7.

Maybe not anytime soon though, maybe not even on PS3.. but they will remake it someday.

Even if not for the massive money they'd get, the population demands it!

A FFVII remake is completely unnecessary. It's bad enough that Square is wringing the not-yet-decayed corpse of FFVII out for as many extra bucks as they can with these god-awful sequels, (Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, Advent Children...). The game is still the most well-known and overall 'most-loved' game around. It's not like the Lunar remakes--games that few people had originally heard of, and even fewer could get a hold of because of their system and rarity. Those were brought out of non-existence after six years...why redo FFVII when it's still in the spotlight after ten years?

The demo proves FFVII's popularity--they used its intro as an example of the PS3's ability because almost everyone knows what the original looked like, and could easily see the difference. If they honestly wanted to redo FFVII, they should wait until the PS4, and a new wave of FFVII-absent gamers. But, I don't think they honestly want to redo FFVII--just get the fans' attention refocused in time for those previously mentioned sequels' releases.

I agree. They REALLY don't need to do a remake, as great as the game may be. I'd rather they focused on an entirely new one.

Enix needs to finish devouring Square before they make some atrocious monster of a FFVII remake-attempt.

personally i dont think they will ever stop maken ff due to the success and the demand for morethey should definatly remake 1 through 7 tho

....did you even read this topic before posting? (very Kikiish XD) the whole topic is about the FF7 tech demo on the PS3 the so called "remake" (which as ive said will most definately probably happen eventually)

TN: The PS3 tech demo was actually not the perfect forum that he wanted to have. It was just timing that we had to submit something in time for E3, for the press conference. So, again, it was not perfect forum. And the 7 remake idea was always, always in conversation, just because it's so popular. And then just because of that tech demo here in the PS3 conference, that probably based more expectations of fans, obviously. And Kitase-san already has told Nomura-san so many times that if there is a remake, that should be created by Nomura. But, again, Nomura-san has so many other projects lined up already in the future schedule, so it's almost impossible to think about that and squeeze that in. But if there is a right time, it would be interesting to create.

So as long as this guy "has time" he'll remake FF7. lol, how much you want to bet it'll be on the PS3 within 2 years? :p

Well truthfull i feel that they should remake the game...hell the origonal still sells for about 27 dollars where im at... It would be great because everybody could enjoy the game with great graphics and not complain about it...Thats mostly why most of my friends wont play the game is because of the graphics (thats prety stupid right?) well yea i think they should remake FF7!!!:D
