Ginta did the kick, Hakkaku did the mountain toss or whatever it was. Episode 99 Sesshomaru & Kouga's Dangerous Encounter. I thought they were hillarious X'D

You got me on that one, guys. Those two have seen such little action that determining their strength is pretty difficult. They are merely support characters. They aren't really among my favorite characters.

Really? I've always thought of it the other way around. In the manga Hakkaku seems a little taller and he kind of looks like he could take a punch better and probably give a punch better (I probably get that impression because when they were trying to intimidate Jaken in ep.99 Hakkaku used his biceps as something to impress while Ginta pointed out his dimples. Unless you're trying to cute the toad to death I think biceps have the advantage. XD )

With Ginta I always thought of him as the most rational Yourouzoku guy. (I think it's because I remember him yelling at Kouga more when he's being airheaded. Ex: When we first meet Kouga in the manga and his tribe is carting him off after Kagome's sat Inuyasha Kouga wants to go back and take care of 'Inukurro'. Ginta's the one who basically says "Oh no you don't! He's too powerful for you to take." )

But when you get right down to it, I'd say the wolfy sidekicks are pretty evenly matched.

*cough* Sorry about the long post. These guys just happen to be my favourites. ^_^;

Is there a difference between them?

Is there a difference between them?

I'd say so. Granted, they guys ARE an awful lot alike personality-wise, but if you pay attention little differences do tend to surface.

For instance, lately I've noticed that when the buds are non-plussed/frustrated they do react a little differently. Ginta seems to respond by getting huffy and vocal and Hakkaku stays quiet more often, but his opinions are plain on his face. At least, those are the impressions that I've gotten from these scenes in the manga (I deleted some stuff from the dialogue bubbles to keep from making this spoilerish):

Inuyasha says something that could be considered a diss to something of Yourouzoku heritage. Hakkaku has an "oh no you di'in't!" look on his face, but says nothing (I think he's a little bit shocked). Ginta speaks up, obviously miffed.

Inuyasha and Kouga are bickering at a REALLY bad time. Ginta (along with Kagome and Miroku) speaks up, again getting rather huffy/ fed up. Hakkaku says nothing, but sports a rather frustrated/ non-plussed/ resigned look.

That's not to say that Hakk' never back talks:

But he seems to do it less often and less loudly.

Again, they're rather small differences... and heck, the two might even switch up roles the next time the Yourouzoku are in the manga. But this is the pattern that I seem to notice. ^_^:
