what thumb translated last nights episode? -_-; Obviously somebody with absolutely no knowledge of the occult.
They aint "specters"
spec·ter http://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/AHD4/JPG/pron.jpg (https://secure.reference.com/premium/login.html?rd=2&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdictionary.reference.com%2Fsearch%3 Fr%3D2%26q%3Dspecter) ( P ) Pronunciation Key (http://dictionary.reference.com/help/ahd4/pronkey.html) (sphttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/AHD4/GIF/ebreve.gifkhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/AHD4/GIF/prime.gifthttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/AHD4/GIF/schwa.gifr)
n.

A ghostly apparition; a phantom.
A haunting or disturbing image or prospect: the terrible specter of nuclear war.
specters have no substance, they are ethereal
The "Band of Seven" (I'll get to that) are fuckin zombies!!!!! They are dead humans reanimated by jewel shards. When you bring the dead guy back to life, he's a zombie damnit! :x

Band of Seven.... *sigh*
Do we call Inu Yasha half dog? Do we call Kouga steel fang? No and no. So why in the bloody hell did they change Schinintai to Band of Seven??? -_-; Lame. They don't translate other names, they leave em Japaneese so wtf. Best villans of the entire Inu Yasha series and they give em an ordinary call sign. Lame lame lame!

maybe the people dubbing it cant pronounce Schinintai so they changed it, but i tottally agree with you, its some pretty lame dubbing I was like :wtf:, but its still interesting to see how badly they translate stuff :)

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing last night.
Specters are ghosts and don't have a scent!

Oy... if they didn't whine so much about InuYasha fans at Adult Swim, I'd write and say something. They tend to rip on IY fans, even though I'm sure we make up a good portion of their ratings.

yes we do -_-; and they seem to resent us for it.
Whatever assholes -_-;
they have shown all the ep's up to the one they showed Saturday, but they were "new" and in order months ago. We've been victems of re-runs.

I have to think that sometimes they do it just to jerk with viewers. Anywho, it's not just them who have that attitude. It's spread to a lot of viewers on their message boards.

I quit going to Adult Swim forums like, a year ago because I was just tired of the bashing.

Like I said in the thread about Inu's voice. Dubbing S*CKS!!! That's why I dig anime so much. The Japanese have a much better sense of entertainment value, so they put much more into coherent storylines that can related to reality and breath-taking artwork. It is an ART! Over here, animation is just for kids, therefore very little effort is put into its making. When anime comes from Japan over to the U.S., it's almost like it goes through an "idiot filter" to dumb it down to what they think is our level.

Okay, just what eps are you guys up to here? Last ep I watched was 84 Dub.

Lol are you kidding? Inu's voice in sub is lame. Dub is way better. But I do agree, sub animes are usually better.

I hate it when they over-edit things. I bought a six-disc import of InuYasha seasons 1 & 2 (can watch in Jap or Eng, and is all region coded). Well, they definitely aren't American releases because in the episode where they meet Miroku and Kagome is bathing, you see a bit more than they showed here. You couldn't even see anything on her, so why the hell did they edit it! It's not like she was completely exposed, and Adult Swim has aired cartoons with people having sex in them!

Tanoro, I completely agree with you, and it IS an artform (although I left that part out of my quote). Anime/manga takes a great deal of skill to draw. I'm still trying to perfect my technique.

Crimson King, we are up to episode #102 Aired in Japanese as "The Wolf Demons, Attacked by a Zombie" and it was aired here as "Assault on the Wolf Demon Tribe"

Sometimes I think the people who bring this stuff to the U.S. don't have the passion for it like the fans do. It's just business to them and they don't mind screwing it up.

I was so looking forward to these new episodes. How lame that they screwed up on so many levels; names, translations, and voice actors.

As far as Adult Swim goes, they can bite my crotch. Banzi Anime Network!

viz did the translations so they're the ones that are really screwing up here.. but as for what adult swim airs, they might be changing words on us too.. :\

Exactly! :mad2: They don't care so long as they get their percentage. off-topic It's just like they do to books that are made into movies.

Well, the import I have has the english dubbing, done by VIZ. I know AS has made some changes. Perhaps not the changes we are discussing at present, but there are some that have been made.
