I am dealing with a rather nasty case of strep, and have been talking to a couple of friends of mine, and we decided that I need to post the following question: What is the worst sickness that you have ever had? (And for those smart-asses out there, yes mental counts too!:D )

As I don't get physically ill very often, I'll have to report on the mental illness...a few weeks ago, I had a very serious case of psychological rabies. It was awful.

Just the usual little kiddie diseases like the mumps and so and so. Nothing major.

Damn...blinded by chicken pox...I've heard it was possible, but I'd never heard of an actual case, though...

Ugh...I remember having that. I got 'em over Christmas break in 1st grade. You couldn't touch me with the lead of a pencil without hitting one; I had 'em everywhere possible, and more .-_-; Dad used to say that even my pox had pox!
The reason I remember it so well, though is because my sister had strep at the same time, and both parents were just getting over the flu...O.o What a Christmas, eh?

I was sick for over a year with something that medical science couldn't explain. I saw over 10 doctors and specialists and they couldn't put a finger on what it was. I lost well over 85 pounds in under three months, I didn't eat for like 3 months, was naueated every single day, and you can just about imagine the rest. I still haven't completely recovered from it and its been over two years since I had it.

i had a body flu for 2 weeks and was violently ill about 10 years ago. it surfaced time and time again in year(sometimes years) gap but nothing like that long, most of 'em usually lasted one week. last time i was that sick was 3 years ago and it was only for few days.

i get scared sometimes when i have minor cold. i rub my bicep or forearms with my hands to check if it's sore or not. i rather die than go through that again.

I just had a mental breakdown over math and some other things that were stressing me out at the time, and apparently one of the HUGE triggers was just a "joke" by a not so close friend of mine who now says I'm immature because I refuse to talk to him. Go figure.

I haven't been seriously sick in years. But I'd say it's a toss-up between ear infection and tonsilitis. Ear infection really freaked me out one morning when I woke up and there was blood all over my pillow. And the tonsilitis...we didn't actually know that's what it was until it got so bad I couldn't swallow an aspirin.

I had tons of those when I was little; the doc says that those might be the cause of my 90% hearing loss in my left ear.

Worst illness ever? Ummm. Pneumonia.Eww...Something I've never had, but from what I know, one of the worst upper respritory illnesses you can have.

To be honest, I never really remember being sick... unless you count food poisioning. That was so horrible... I was doing it so much... my stomach was so sore, and yellow stuff was coming out, even though I didn't eat or drink anything for the rest of that day. But after all that, I was over it in one day. Lol not trying to get too graphic, but it was weird...

But other than that, I've never really been sick.

I have a virtually invunlerable immune system. I use to get sick all the time when i was a kid, i had pnuemonia when i was like 5, the last time i was sick enough to stay in bed was when I was 7. I havent had the flu since that age, my only aggrivation is sinus problems turning fall-winter and winter-spring transitions.

i had strept 3-4 times in one year and it crippled me and left the inside of my throat looking like a giant scar. O_o; i also had a couple bad instances of pnemonia and bronchitis. i was a sickly kid. :\

The worst?
I would have to say that was last year...after my dad tried to stangle me, I became mentally unstable having flashbacks and nightmares almost 24/7. It had been the second time he had tried to kill me and I guess it just took it's toll on me. I was put in a mental institution because I constantly thought he was going to try to kill me again and I was scared witless... I was diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)..It's what alot of war veterans get...expecially from Vietnam.
I'm doing better now...and actually I think I'm alot better off now than before all of that happened because now I can look past little things and not worry about the small tidpits in life.

I think that was my worst illness...I guess.

Wow, sorry that happened to you. :|

My worst was a pneumonia that put me in the hospital and (I'm told) almost killed me, but I was too young to remember it very clearly.

My father is the same way. That's why he is the way he is...or so I'm told. He started drinking to try to block out everything but he doesn't know it just makes it worse...he doesn't remember anything when he is drunk. You have nothing to say sorry about. I'm well on my way now. I was just telling the truth.

Now back to the topic...physically wise, I think my worst was when I had a very bad stomach flu when I was 12 or 13 that lasted for 5 days. I couldn't even drink water with out it coming back up more than less eat anything. I had lost so much weight during that time...
