"finding" Atlantis is tricky business. The dates the Egyptians give for Atlantis and the dates the Greeks go by are different. The location given by Plato is confusing. Its beyond the Pillars of Hercules Pillars, which could take you as far out into the Atlanitc Ocean as South America. The other problem is description of size. Some only are concerened with the city, where other archeologists are more incline to belive Atlantis was the capitol of a massive land mass; something much larger then the big island of Hawaii, maybe South America.
It all goes back to "lost in translation". Plato didnt go to Atlantis, he read about it via translated egyptian. Numbers took a beating, as did other units of measurment. The when and how big of Atlantis is debatable. Modern scientists try to use records of natural disaster to put the stories into perspectiveto try to determine the when.

I don't think I'll believe this until I see some proof. Although, it would be cool.

I doubt it was a "super advanced civilization" as is recorded. But if you think, what we call normal, and Egyptian would praise as either super advanced or godlike.

However, there are still other structures still standing after some thousands of years as well. It takes quite a while for things to just erode away. For example, the pyramids are still standing. Thousands of years of winds and stuff like that may have meade them a little shorter perhaps, but they still stand. And what about the Great Wall? China has a few frequent earthquakes, but only tiny fragmenst or little chunks aregone from it. And what about the Titanic? In 2012, it'll be down for for a millenia. A lot of rust and bacteria and other little creatures have turned it into a reef, but you can still tell things about it. I'm pretty sure artifacts of Atlantis will still be there...if it truly is Atlantis.
