Its not really AS's fault. I don't think they do any edits themselves at least. Its the publishing companies that screw up translations and edit the bulk of the series.

AS does do some edits. they bleeped out a few curses in Eva and shadowed over Asuka's tub scene.. which made little sense as they didn't edit anything out of the episode when shinji was swallowed by Unit 1. I didnt see how they handeled the Rei clones.

They also do the whole scratch table noise for harsher curses in Champloo.

Everyone has to be a n00b at some point in time. If you dont ever show anime in the US, how do we expect it ever to become big? Watching Gundam Wing on toonami when it 1st started, got me into anime. some people cant afford to spend $120-180 a box set or have high speed connections to DL fansubs. I think AS does a pretty decent job as far as saturday nights go... they can do away with alot of their original comedy shows tho.

Toonami does ALOT more edits... but not quite as much as they use too. Infact I'm surprised they leave as much blood in as they do on Naruto. Then again, what is there really to watch on Toonami besides Bobobo-bobo Bo-bobo X'D!

if im not mistaken...that is how they did it in the original japanese version :-p its was part of their whole feel...ive seen the whole series in fansub and i bleieve the scratch noise was used in place of any curse they used

Easily, the show is annoyingly stupid. I quit watching Toonami and AS 6 months ago because I don't enjoy watching any of the shit they show (I hate Naruto (unless I'm reading the manga) and the other stuff they show is overly stupid).

And good lord aqu and GRX. Those spoilers are freaking massive.

I quit about the time I got all the eps of Full Metal Alchemist and Evangelion. I'm working for Gundam Wing and Fruits Basket now.
