I was just looking at a variety of people's screen names, and then looked at my own and thought, "Gee, I wonder how other people came up with their screen names? What was so meaningful about this that they chose to be known as this on the forum?"

So, let's hear the background stories. If you chose a character, why? What was so special about this character? If you came up with something else, how did you chose that?

I'll start. To begin, I have always liked Tinkerbell. She's fiesty, ornery, and not to mention overflowing with spunk. Next, I have a three year old niece who looks a hell of a lot like me. I was babysitting her one morning, and I fell asleep in the chair with her, and she woke me up, and without thinking, I said "What's up, Stinkerbell?"
That's what I call her. And I don't really know why, but I adopted it as my screen name and my website name.

This is the 10th or so time this topic has come up.

my dads friend were having a baby so we went through books to find a name, each one had a "what the name could mean" so i looked at one similar to mine (they never have mine) and it meant honeybee and i liked it. the other reason is while on a trip w/ my friend i confided into being scared of the Hometown buffet bee mascot so thats why my friend's annoying bros kept calling me honeybee.

Well, my screen name is my first Craft name. My full Craft name is Tanoro Zelgaddis Lockheart. "Tanoro" is the namesake I took in honor of my spirit guide, also named "Tanoro." "Lockheart" is a name that he gave me to mark my character when I first became a Pagan. I was very cold, quiet, and let no one into my personal life, so he named me "Lockheart." I have since become more open to people, but I kept the name he gave me. "Zelgaddis" is a symbolic Shamanic name. Shamanism is the occult practice that connects people to spirit entities. As such, having the name "Zelgaddis" in the middle of my Craft name is like connecting my spirit guide (my first name) to me (my last name).

To get my name, I combined three of my favorite "A" names: Ariana, Astrelle, and Adrienne, therefore creating asrienne. My real name isn't as cool (Danielle) and I didn't feel like using my regular forum name (Utari).

vampire princess miyu is a series i really like and i just liked the name miyu so i use it for almost anything, but i wanted to use miyu cause i didn't want to use my other name (pretty-kitty) but yeah

A wolflord is someone who will use anything to gain power (blackmail, threats, torture, the usual) from the book, and I liked the character they call the wolflord, so now it is my screename.

I joined Gundamforum in the peak of Gundam Wings popularity on CN. Deathscythe was my favorite Gundam, but Deathscythe was already taken as a screen name. So i slapped an X at the end and people started refering to me as DX. so it stuck and i kept the name ever since.

Miyu is also the name a of a main gal in super gals who used to belong to a gang( she kicked a$$ man!!) but quit. She is now the #3 gal in shiboya (XD probably spelled wrong). She also refers to her self in the 3rd person all the time. She is also currently in love w/ Umato a police cop.

A Blue-Eyes White Tiger! :D That sounds like a Yu-gi-oh card. :p I've read a little on familiars. They are awesome. I have dragons all over my altar because I want to attract a dragon familiar. They are tricky to handle, but they go with every element.

Ummm... So in like 8th grade, I saw Kiki's Delivery Service and thought it was really cool, and I talked to my Japanese friend about it and she was like "ha. Baby anime. 'Oh my name is Kiki. Blah blah blah. I'm soo lame.'" So we just kept making fun of her name, I don't know if it's different in Japanese or what, but yah. And then I saw Gundam Wing, and like every good squee-ing fan girl, I had to make up my own character to steal the love of a boy on the show. So yes... as I was less creative in name shopping at the time, I chose Kiki. And like Sassy, had I known I'd be here for so long... I might have chosen something a little less annoying.

I chose my name off of an anime that I like alot, but some people think the anime is too complicated. ^_^; Also it looks pretty cool.

As far as familiars, there are several kinds. You can use your common house-pet as your familiar if you choose to let it take part in rituals. Cats have always been favored to spellcasters because they are naturally quieter, more reverent, and spiritually adept. Have you ever heard the old saying how cats can sense spirits present? Any animal that you've made a heart-to-heart contact with will do, however. There are also much wider varieties of familiars roaming the spirit plane. Literally any creature you can imagine is on the spirit plane in some form: dragons, phoenixes, satyrs, hyrdas, winged-horses, or regular animals. I highly recommend the book Animal Magick by D.J. Conway.
