So I'm incredibly bored, and I find myself cutting... my hair! Moo ha ha ha. So, anyone else prefer the "new age" look of asymmetric angles and general cheapness of cutting your own hair? I know I do. And it's great, because now that I'm in college my mom won't yell at me for doing it. "Wah wah wah. Why don't you just go to a salon and get it cut when your sister goes?" "Cause it costs like $50. That's ABSURD!" "But it looks nicer. Oh oh oh! Go to the Chinese hair stylist. Only $8!!" -_-; Right mommy, right... I think I'll take my chances.

I've always wanted to cut my hair, but I just can't do the back of my head you know. The best thing to do is to get an electric shaver with different levels and wooosh. For guys atleast ^_^ heh
But 50 $ is ridiculous, unless it's a well known beauty salon ?

*remembers virgin bus thread* :haha:

i've been cutting my hair for few years now and still am really bad at it. yesterday for example, i left a huge gap on my left side of my head because i was daydreaming. no one laughed at work today so i guess it aint that bad(trust me, it's bad), it'll fill in in few days though i'm sure. it was much easier to handle when i had long hair, but i still havent decided to grow back or not. i dont know if it was complement or not but the other day, someone told me i looked like prince X'D well that's when i dont slick my hair back with mousse anyways.

i pretty much only cut my own hair unless like its just getting uncontrollably long and it just happens to fall on the day my sister in law is working(shes a stylist) otherwise i take my electric beard trimmer thing and just do it myself

oh man, bus virgin, good times, good times. I love being misleading. :p No $50 is about average for a good woman's hair cut. And when my hair was long it was freaking easy to cut, but now it's all short and I think it's rather uneven, but I wear it down when it's curly, so you can't really tell. And Cloudymon, as far as Prince is concerned, you should ask which one? Prince, the artist formerly known as Prince, or Prince: the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince. :p

I cut my own hair, my family finds $30 for a wash and trim expensive, especially since we'd rather be stuffed with food!

Growing your hair out really reduces the cost of getting it cut.

I used to trim my bangs when they would start curling on the ends, but now I'm just letting everything go until I look like a girl again. Extra $30 in my pocket each month.

each month??? you mean people get their hair cut more than once every year?!?!

woah... and I have really long hair...I'm gonna grow it out so kids with no hair can have it and see how much of a pain in the rear derer airr mine is!!!

MUWHAHAHA!

You're supposed to get it cut every 6-8 weeks to keep it healthy. I've gone like a year at least without a trim. Needless to say my hair was quite nasty after that...

And I had to get my hair cut every 4 weeks just because when it's really short, you can tell if it's grown even a fraction of an inch. =\

I cut my own hair the other day, it had some uneven ends so I took a pair of scissors to it lol. My friend Manda gives great hair cuts lol, I think I'm gonna see if my boyfriend Chris will let me cut his hair a little and take a straightner to it...I'm curiose to see that it will look like if I do. Mwahahahahaha!!!

Short hair at least for me is easier. Except it's harder to cut on your own... I donated my hair over the summer, that's why it's so short. So yah. Ummmm.... I don't know?

Short hair is definitely harder.

-You have to cut it much more often.
-You have to style it every day--if you're having a bad hair day, you can't just put it up in a ponytail or something.
Plus, the less hair you have, the more noticable it is when some part of it isn't doing what it should be.
And, you have to adapt your way of styling it every few days since it grows out of where the stylist meant it to be.

And other things.
Short = suck.

But wouldn't it be easier to handle/take care of it ? ^_^
With shorter hair, you gals wouldn't have to style it a lot even. Just put it all back or a centre/side parting. Ofcourse, if you're heavy into styling n all, it could be troublesome as you suggested Saiel.
