Front Mission 4
Written by Gundam-Ranger-X
Thursday, 12 August 2004

Platform: PlayStation 2
Genre: Mecha
Publisher: Square-Enix
Developer: Square Enix
Released: 06/15/2004

Front Mission was good. Front mission 3 was better, and Front Mission 4 is the best yet.

First, let me start out by saying this game looks great, the graphics just got better. (although at time it looks like they could be smoother.)

The opening cinema was amazing. It nearly blew me out of my chair. Total Mechanised Warfare.

And if that wasn't good enough, the in-game opener was even better. Well maybe not graphic wise but the action was a million times improved. The movement was clean and fluid. Oh, and when I said the graphics could be smoother ealrier, I was only refering to some of the lines, not the actual movement. Excelent work guys. :thumbs up:

Now on to sounds.

The sounds are true to the seires, little has change. But it has definatly improved. It's cleaner, notissably so. And the musical score is pretty cool too, not great, but cool. Then again, the only score I found great were the semi heavy metal score of Ranger-X and Red Alert 2.

Oh, and I almost forgot! In this one, there are Voice Overs. Really good ones too.

And Gameplay.

Still good, they didn't mess anything up here. Well except for a few things. But now that you have those back packs that let you repair parts it's pretty much okay to have them blow up so it's all good.

Improvements.

Here are some things that I think could be improved.

1) I found the weight limitations of the Wanzers in this one, really limiting at times. I mean, at one point, I couldn't even upgrade my guy's guns because it would be too heavy.

2)some of the in game stuff could be a little less linear, I mean, the lines showed up a bit to blocky at times.

3)I would like to be able to design my own personal emblem to pu on my Wanzer.

4)I would also like to have the ability to pain the wanzers kinda like you could in Armored Core 2.
