Anyone know of any good reliable dvd burning software?

I'm looking into getting this DVD burner (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp? Item=N82E16827152035#DetailSpecs) which seems to be pretty nicely priced. And 600 votes with an average of 5/5 cant be bad..

Also, does anyone know how to burn .avi/.ogm/.mkv files onto a dvd so it can be played in a conventional dvd player?

its impossible...they are compressed files you have to uncompress them back into MPEG....and Nero burning software isnt that bad

!_! Think I might be able to convert them into mpeg with adobe premeire?

i saw a couple sites with info about converting and burning ogm files into dvd player ready dvds.. so many steps and hassles and the amount of episodes per disc is shrunk down significantly (kinda like burning a mp3 disc with 50+ songs but when burned into audio cd format the disc will only hold 15). x_x; its all because of the compression. i just burn them all on data discs, and play everything on the computer (computer has svideo output to tv.) if you find an easy way to burn them into dvd player friendly disks tho, let me know.

and we use Ulead DVD Movie Factory suite. i haven't tried all of its features, just the data/audio disk burns. the audio disk burning part is iffy (but it might be my burner needs a firmware update) but the data disk burn part works like a charm. and i've used nero before for cd burning. excellent program too.

Oh.. right, lmao, I have ATI all-in-wonder card I got all sorts of inputs and outputs on that sucker. ;) I guess that'll work.

On a side note, I just ordered the drive.. ^^' woot! I'm excited! I have about 105GB of anime to burn :X

i use nero and it's great for burning data disks, my burner takes only about 3 minutes for a full dvd. however, i haven't been successful in burning video disks....it always seems to crap out halfway through, don't know why...i guess i'll check for updates that i might be missing.
