Okay, I just started using Bit Torrents. The first thing I had was ABC, now Azureus and BitComet. For some reason when I click on the BT link it says this, http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/9905/help6cl.jpg

But when I right click and click "Save As..." it shows this file being saved as a BitComet file. http://img116.imageshack.us/img116/6978/help15fl.jpg

But I deleted everything that has to do with BitComet. It won't let me BT any of these torrents with Azureus. I don't want to use BitComet, nothing of mine works with it. But Azureus works better for me. But I'm not able to use it because of that sign that came up in the first imageshack photo.

Thank you in advance, I'm not good with stuff that I've never seen before. ^_~;

I think it has something to do with your computer being set to open all torrents with bitcomet. You should just download the torrent, and once it's done, right click and hit "Open With" then "Choose Program" and then select Azareus. That should work. Post here if it doesn't.

Edit: Also, when you're choosing Azareus, check the box next too "Always use the selected program to open this type of file."

did you delete bitcomet or uninstall it? if you just deleted it all of its file associations will remain. i recommend you re-install it and then uninstall it from window's add/remove programs screen. another work around would do was akira says, but another way to do it is to open your "My Computer" screen, then at the top of the window click "Tools" then "Folder Options", then click the "File Types" tab and change the program association for torrents.

heres a screen shot:

Thanks it's working now. I completely unistalled it from the Add/Remove Programs window, but it still showed traces of BitComet in their. I even did a search for BitComet and got rid of the extra stuff I couldn't find.

I did the choose programs that Akira said earlier before I made this thread but it didn't work at first. Today when I got on it just deleted all of the data that I had stored up from the torrent.

I did what Sledge said and it seems to be working so far! ^_^

Thanks both of you! ...I feel stupid now. XP
