If you have a CD or DVD R/W drive, what brand of disks do you prefer for your CDs and DVDs? And what price do you usually pay per pack (25, 50, 100)? and what store usually has the best sale? I figured we could all post our price comparisions along with quality to see what the best deal is.

For CDs, I prefer Sony CD-Rs. Staples recently had a sale on Sony 50 packs for $8.99. Helluva good deal compared to the regular sticker price of $19.99. Also, I've only had minimal problems with failed disks with Sony.

For DVDs, I buy DVD+Rs because after searching around reviews and forums for my Pioneer DVD R/W drive, DVD+Rs are preferred over DVD-Rs. I've used TDK DVD+R disks but 1 out of every 5 or 6 disks would fail. Now I buy Memorex 25 packs over at walmart for $14.99 or at Best Buy when they have them on sale for 50% off. I've never had a Memorex disk fail on me. O_o

Also, does anyone buy DVD DL disks? Staples has them for $14 for 3 disks and i just don't see the point in buying them for that price. O_o;

Heh, I get mine for uber cheap. I prefer the CD-R's Imation makes and since my mother works there so we can get stacks of around 250 for a $1. Only place I get my CD-R's from.

As for DVD-R's I don't burn DVD's (yet I have a DVD burner).

I use whatever. Iv noticed its not really the CDs you use its the CD burner. The CD quality and life spand still matter but like I said I havent noticed a diffrence with a number of diffrent brands iv used in the past. The newer burners tend to handle great on any of the CDRs, CDRWs and DVDR.... I use. But my old burners tend to have some data loss due to software issues and burner problems.
